Mufrettin Sari, Ph.D.

Assistant Professor of Practice - Chemistry

Mufrettin Murat Sari is a chemistry professor at Texas Tech University at Waco. Before joining Texas Tech, he worked as a teaching assistant at Hacettepe University; researcher at Criminal Department Research Center, Ankara, Turkey; and a chemistry professor at the Turkish National Defense University. He also was an invited lecturer in Finland and Poland. He was a visiting professor at Texas A&M University and then continued to teach undergraduate and graduate level organic chemistry, general chemistry, biochemistry, analytical chemistry, chemistry for engineers, and environmental chemistry classes at Texas A&M University-Commerce, UNT-Dallas, UT-Arlington, Dallas College, and the University of Nebraska.

Besides teaching, he has more than 20 years of research experience in the fields of materials chemistry, renewable energy materials, applied biochemistry, biotechnology, and nanotechnology. He is the author and editor of two books on advanced energy materials, and more than 30 scientific articles, book chapters, and proceedings.

His other areas of interest are book editing at Elsevier Publishing Company, information technology, and cybersecurity. Teaching is his passion, and he is enthusiastic about teaching organic chemistry and other GOB courses at Texas Tech University.

Mufrettin enjoys spending time with his family, jogging, and playing soccer.
