Postdoctoral Research Fellow Receives Two-Year Grant from the USDA

Mandana Pahlavani, a postdoctoral research fellow in Texas Tech University's Department of Nutritional Sciences in the College of Human Sciences, was awarded a two-year, $165,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) National Institute of Food and Agriculture's (NIFA) Education and Literacy Initiative (ELI).

Doctoral Student Receives Prestigious Fellowship

Kerry Manzo, a doctoral student in Texas Tech University's Department of English in the College of Arts & Sciences through Texas Tech's Graduate School, has received a Mellon/ACLS Dissertation Completion Fellowship. The $30,000 fellowship from the American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS) is supported by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.

Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) celebrates the exciting research being done by our graduate students. Developed by The University of Queensland (UQ) in 2008, this exercise cultivates academic, presentation, and research communication skills.

7th Annual Arts & Humanities

The Arts & Humanities conference features 10-15 minute paper presentations by graduate students, highlighting research and work in the Arts and Humanities. There is a moderator present and a panel of judges who rate each presentation. There are several sessions and heats with winners announced at the end of the conference.
