Technology Requirements

You must have an active account with a Broadband or High Speed Internet Service Provider or a dedicated Internet connection such as a T1 connection. Suggested minimum acceptable data rates are 256Kb/s downloads and 128Kb/s uploads. Students may use either an IBM compatible PC or Apple/Macintosh computer for their online studies. Students are strongly encouraged to purchase laptop computers that are needed for most on-campus seminars. Students will be provided e-Raider (Campus West) and NEO (Campus East) accounts that will allow access to certain university databases, student registration information, and other programs.

Must I have access to an ITV or Distance Education connection?

Yes, the securing a state-of-the-art distance education connection is the responsibility of the student. Instate students may have access to the Trans Texas Video Network (http://ttvn.tamu.edu/) and/or TTU NET (http://www.net.ttu.edu/services/default.htm) distance education facilities with prior arrangement.
