Museum of Texas Tech
The Museum is an educational, scientific, cultural, and research element of Texas
Tech University. It consists of several components: the main Museum building, the
Moody Planetarium, the Natural Science Research Laboratory, and the Lubbock Lake Landmark.
The Museum is a member of the Blue Star Program which gives free admission to military
personnel and veterans.

documenting, interpreting and exhibiting artifacts and information for public education

The mission of the Vietnam Center at Texas Tech University is to support and encourage
research and education regarding all aspects of the American Vietnam experience; promoting
a greater understanding of this experience and the peoples and cultures of Southeast

will be to serve as a display and teaching museum for the study of World War II and
its impact on the American people.

Lubbock Area Veterans War Memorial
Created for the purpose of honoring the sacrifices for our freedom, the center portion
of the memorial commemorates South Plains veterans who were killed in action. The
brick and marble monument is dedicated to the veterans of Lubbock and the South Plains
area and an adjacent area honors living and deceased members of the U.S. Armed Forces.
A final section is for citizens who wish to show their support of veterans and the
memorial.
