Responding to Critical Feedback

Responding to reviewer comments is a critical part of the publication process. Participants will learn how to effectively read, interpret, and respond to reviewer comments to get the most out of revise and resubmit feedback. Model response letters will also be provided and discussed.

Breaking down writing goals into small, attainable goals can help writers feel more productive, motivated, and positive about their writing progress. In this workshop, we will talk about how to create specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals that will alleviate the pressure of writing and support better mental health.

Research questions provide a path through the research and writing process. In this workshop, we will discuss how to develop research questions, including how to focus preliminary topics, and how to evaluate your research questions for effectiveness. This workshop will be helpful for writers in a variety of disciplines.

Building a Practical “Toolkit” for Achieving Writing Goals

Knowing your resources is key to building a sustainable writing practice. This interactive workshop will share tools and techniques writers can use to stay engaged and effective throughout the writing process. Lunch will be provided for in-person participants.

Lunch will be provided to participants who register as in-person. Due to space limitations, in-person attendance will be capped at 40.
