Fire Investigations/Arson

Every fire that is not known to be accidental (such as a cooking fire) is investigated by a trained arson Investigator from the Texas Tech Fire Marshal's Office. The primary Investigator in response to fire incidents is an officer from TTPD and requests from the Fire Marshal's Office will be made as necessary. Fires determined through investigation to be willfully or maliciously set are classified as arsons for Clery reporting purposes.
