A continuing education unit (CEU) is a nationally recognized unit of achievement. Texas Tech University is among the many colleges and universities throughout the U.S. that award CEUs. CEU credit is normally awarded for learning activities that provide three or more hours of instruction (contact hours). Any program or activity approved for CEU credit must comply with internationally recognized standards. By successfully completing ten hours of instruction, an individual earns 1.0 CEUs. Other activities may apply, please submit an application for evaluation.

Evaluation Criteria

An application for CEU credits will be reviewed and evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • A clearly identified target audience
  • Clearly defined intended learning outcomes
  • Qualifications of the instructor(s)
  • Appropriateness of content relative to the audience and the learning outcomes

Approval Process

After we receive your application form, we will evaluate it based on the evaluation criteria.

Together with the completed application form, please also submit copies of the presenters' vita or resume as well as a course syllabus showing the amount of contact hours. A new application is to be submitted each time the learning activity is offered.

Continuing Education Units are evaluated by:
