Tips to Get Your Spring 2022 Semester Started

By Leslie DeBusk, Associate Director of Blackboard Support

As you prepare for the Spring 2022 semester, here are some helpful tips from our Blackboard support staff to get things started off right.

Spring 2022 Live Courses

All Spring 2022 live courses are in Blackboard. Spring 2022 courses were pushed to Blackboard at the beginning of November, and as new courses are created in Banner they are pushed to Blackboard. Courses will be pushed to Blackboard each semester going forward.

Course Copy

You can copy content from a development course or a live course from a previous semester. Follow the detailed instructions provided on the Course Copy in Blackboard training document.

Request to Combine Blackboard Live Courses

Combining course sections merges the enrollments of multiple sections into one course. You will work from a master course where all the students will be listed and the courses that make up the master course are called “child” courses. You will grade and make changes in the master course. Copy the table on the Request to Combine Blackboard Live Shells page, include the requested information and send it to blackboard@ttu.edu.

Add Users to a Blackboard Course

Faulty and teaching assistants can be added to courses in Blackboard if they have the proper credentials. Here are the criteria and instructions on how to request to have a user added to your Blackboard course.

Students who are not enrolled in the course in Banner cannot be added to any live course.

If you have a student who received an incomplete in a previous semester, they must complete the course work in the course they were originally enrolled in. Blackboard support can re-open a course for a student that received an incomplete.
