Tony B. Uduh - 2020-2021 President

Hello my Fellow Red Raiders,

My name is Tony B. Uduh and I want to thank my fellow graduate students for affording me the opportunity to serve as your President of the Texas Tech Graduate Assembly for the 2020-2021 school year. I was originally born and raised in the southwest area of Houston, TX. I am the youngest of 4 siblings (all older sisters). I am both a first-generation Nigerian-American and college student. I currently live in the great city of San Antonio, TX. Some of my hobbies include both watching and playing sports, traveling, spending time with my family, medium walks on the beach... (pretty basic right?)

I was fortunate to attend Texas Tech as an undergraduate where I double-majored in Accounting and Energy Commerce. During my time as an undergrad I participated in numerous organizations on campus which include Pegasus (First Generation College Student Org), Energy Commerce Association, Vice President of the Accounting Leadership Council, African Student Organization, Finance Association and more. I also held several jobs on campus; the Paperboy for Daily Toreador, Mentor for Pegasus, and employee at University Student Housing.

My career path and my experience during my undergrad years led me back to Texas Tech to pursue my MBA at Rawl's College of Business. As a hybrid-student, visiting Lubbock one weekend a month for classes, I wanted to continue to be as involved with the university and enjoy my graduate years as well. I simply refuse to let the distance, the pandemic, or anything stop me from achieving this, so I decided to run for class president. I want ALL graduate students whether in-person, hybrid, or 100% online to have as many opportunities as possible to feel some sense of involvement no matter the circumstances. This is a new organization, but I believe together, with our efforts, we can take the necessary steps to build something special.
