Food Pantry Checkout Process

What is Raider Red’s Food Pantry’s Role on Campus?

Raider Red’s Food Pantry provides supplemental non-perishable food and hygiene items to students who are facing financial hardships and is designed to complement other available resources, both on and off campus.

Students experiencing long-term hardships are encouraged to contact the Raider Relief – Advocacy & Resource Center (RR-ARC) to be connected with additional available resources.

When is Raider Red’s Food Pantry Open?

Raider Red’s Food Pantry will be open for summer visits from Monday, June 1st, through Wednesday, August 12th.

Summer 2026 Pantry hours are as follows:

  • Monday: 11 am - 3 pm 
  • Tuesday: 10 am - 2 pm 
  • Wednesday: 11 am - 1 pm 
  • Thursday: 10 am - 2 pm 
  • Friday: 11 am - 3 pm 

Weekly Meat Distribution: TBA

If you are unable to visit Raider Red's Food Pantry during our regular pantry hours, please email foodpantry@ttu.edu to schedule an appointment. 

Please note that Raider Red's Food Pantry will follow any weather-related delays/instructions as released by Texas Tech University.

Where is Raider Red’s Food Pantry Located?

Raider Red’s Food Pantry is located in Drane Hall, room 132.

What Should I Know Before Visiting the Food Pantry?

  • The pantry is open to all currently enrolled Texas Tech University students. 
  • Please bring your physical student ID to each visit
  • No proof of income is required to access Raider Red’s Food Pantry. 

What Can I Expect During My Visit?

  1. Create or renew your PantrySoft account using your TTU email address. 
  2. Check in at the front desk of the Pantry using your TTU student ID. 
  3. Grab a basket and shop while following posted item limits. 
  4. Once you're done making your selections, a Food Pantry staff member will scan your items. 
  5. After your items have been scanned, you can begin bagging your items.

Need More Than One Visit?

Students who need additional food support throughout the semester are encouraged to reach out to the Raider Relief - Advocacy & Resource Center (RR-ARC). 

By meeting with our team, students may be connected to: 
  • Additional pantry visits
  • Long-term or ongoing support resources
  • Other campus and community resources that may help their needs

What Items Can I Donate?

Raider Red's Food Pantry gratefully accepts donations that help support students experiencing food insecurity and financial hardship. 

Items We Accept

The pantry currently accepts: 
  • Non-perishable food items (canned goods, pasta, rice, cereal, etc.)
  • Hygiene and personal care items (toothpaste, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, feminine hygiene products, etc.)
To help ensure donations align with the pantry's current needs, please contact our staff at foodpantry@ttu.edu before donating. 


Items We CAN NOT Accept

To help maintain the safety and quality of resources available to students, the pantry cannot accept: 
  • Perishable items (items that spoil quickly without refrigeration)
  • Homemade items
  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Open or used items
  • Expired items 
  • Rusty or unlabeled items

Key Services & Partnerships

Raider Red's Food Pantry partners with campus and community organizations to help connect students with additional food and basic needs support. 

SNAP Application Support

Through a partnership with Texas Health and Human Services, eligible students may receive assistance with completing SNAP applications and learning more about available benefits. 

To schedule a SNAP support appointment, students may email raiderrelief@ttu.edu.

Snack Spots

Snack Spots are located across campus and provide students with quick, accessible snacks between classes. These locations are designed to help students stay nourished and supported throughout the day.

Do You Have Extra Dining Dollars to Use?

When you use your Dining Plan, you can do more than grab a meal. You can make a meaningful impact. Through Transact Mobile Ordering, you have the opportunity to support fellow Red Raiders by purchasing items for the TTU Food Pantry.

It is a simple way to give back, and help ensure every student has access to the essentials they need.

Students may donate $25 in Dining Bucks during the fall and spring semesters. All purchases are non-refundable.
