and community members exploring global thinking. Global Views Film Series screenings include an opportunity to check out the latest ICC photography exhibit,
a pre-film introduction, and a post-film discussion. Contact CGC@ttu.edu with your interest.

11/14/24, 6pm: Rabbit-Proof Fence
plot | trailer | review | views
A Rabbit-Proof Fence is the third of three films on the theme of “Authoritarianism in International Cinema,” building on the key premise of the humanities that stories can trigger productive
intellectual and emotional responses that engage the public effectively. The first
was Invictus, which we watched with Mandela Washington Fellows engaged in leadership training at
TTU. The second was A Bold Peace documenting the impact of the demilitarization of Costa Rica on education and healthcare.
The current film traces a true story from Australia. In 1931, three half-white, half-Aboriginal
girls escape after being plucked from their houses to be trained as domestic staff,
and set off on a journey across the Outback.
- How far did the girls walk in Rabbit-Proof Fence?
- What is the story behind it?
- What happened to Gracie?
- Does the fence still exist?
