Aaron Lucero-Cannon just finished his third year as the Head Choral Director at Newman Smith High School. Prior to being at Newman Smith, he served as the Associate Choir Director at Lake Highlands High School in Richardson ISD and Robinson Middle School in Plano ISD. Choirs under the direction of Mr. Lucero-Cannon have consistently received Sweepstakes at UIL contest and his students have been successful at Solo and Ensemble, Region, and placed in the All-State choirs. In 2013, he had the honor of conducting the Robinson Middle School Varsity A Cappella Treble Choir at the TMEA convention in San Antonio. In addition to his teaching, Mr. Lucero-Cannon sings in the Highland Park Presbyterian Chorale, he serves as the Music Director for Community Christian Church in Richardson, and is the Assistant Conductor for the Youth Chorus of the Children's Chorus of Greater Dallas. Mr. Lucero-Cannon is a 2012 graduate of Texas Tech University where he received his Bachelor of Music degrees in Music Education and Vocal Performance with a minor in Italian.
