Katie Patel is now serving her eighth year of teaching and second year as Head Choir Director at Jasper High School in Plano ISD. Choirs under Mrs. Patel have consistently received superior ratings at UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Contest, as well as, at various festivals and evaluations across DFW. Students of Mrs. Patel have participated in All-Region choirs, All-State Choirs, received superior ratings and outstanding soloist awards at Solo & Ensemble, and participated in the state level of the Solo and Ensemble Contest. Mrs. Patel has served as the Concert I Chorus Assistant Conductor for the Children's Chorus of Greater Dallas for the past seven years. She serves this position under CCGD Artistic Director, Cynthia Nott. She has also served as the Texas Tech University All-State Choir Camp Alto Section Leader for both Large School and Small School sectors for the past seven years. Mrs. Patel was honored to have recently received the Texas Choral Directors' Association Award for "Young Choir Director of Distinction." She is also extremely excited to conduct the Lewisville 5th Grade Honor Choir for the third year in a row.
        

  In 2013, Mrs. Patel graduated with a Bachelor's in Music Education from Texas Tech University where she was awarded with scholarships from TTU, TMEA, Kenneth W. Turner Memorial, Haik Vocal and the TTU Alumni Association. She studied voice with Dr. Quinn Patrick Ankrum and sang in university ensembles directed by both Dr. Carolyn Cruse and Professor Richard Bjella. Recently, Mrs. Patel earned her Masters Degree from TTU in Music Education. She holds affiliations with the Texas Music Educators Association, the Texas Choral Directors Association, and Texas Music Adjudicators Association. Mrs. Patel lives in Wylie, TX with her husband Neal and their new baby boy, Dylan.
