Cynthia "Cindy" Thompson

Cindy Thompson is the program director in the Office of Research Commercialization. As an intellectual property analyst, she maintains the electronic files for patent applications, issued patents, technologies and license agreements. Her responsibilities also include management of contracts and intellectual property.

She communicates with outside counsel, supporting the Assistant Managing Director and Intellectual Property Manager with the patent portfolio's which include tracking details of the patent prosecution. Additionally, she is involved with established license agreements for compliance related to royalties.

Cindy attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins before moving to Southern California for many years. While working as a legal technician for the FDIC, she completed her contracts courses at Irvine University College of Law. She was the executive paralegal to the COO of Lennar Corporation in Aliso Viejo, California for 12 years before returning to her native state of Colorado.

She is happy to be in Lubbock where she looks forward to earning the title of Red Raider Alum!
