Zemfira N. Karamysheva, Ph.D.

Personal Information
Dr. Zemfira Karamysheva is an Associate Professor at TTUHSC, Department of Cell Biology and Biochemistry. She holds a PhD degree in Molecular Biology obtained at Moscow State University in Russia. She completed postdoctoral training at University of Tokyo in Japan and Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. She was a research faculty at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas prior coming to Lubbock. Research in her lab is focused on regulation of gene expression, translational control and ribosome specialization in protozoa parasites and mammalian organisms.
