Jordan Crago, Ph.D.
Email: jordan.crago@ttu.edu
Dr. Crago is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental Toxicology, specializing in aquatic toxicology. He received his Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee and a Bachelor's of Science from Ohio University. Much of his research centers on pairing field and lab studies to identify the effects of chemicals found in the environmental on development and reproductive success in fish and invertebrates. Because there are multiple pathways that effect development and reproduction, there is no one group of chemicals or pathways that he focuses his research on. In part, Dr. Crago let the field research guide his approach to the laboratory studies where he focused on specific adverse outcome pathways. The outcome of his research is to hopefully identify which chemicals entering the environment have the greatest effect on development and reproductive success in aquatic organisms.
He volunteers locally at the Boys and Girls Club in Lubbock helping with After School activities. He have mentored many undergraduate students, and they are involved in data collection, analysis, and writing, with three of the undergrads research included in two publications in peer-reviewed journals and a presentation at the local conferences.
