Letters of Accommodation (LOA) Process
All Letters of Accommodation (LOAs) are sent electronically, as an email, to the instructor of record for the course. Instructors, you should only accept LOAs emailed to you, on behalf of the student, via the Student Disability Services (SDS) office email – sds@ttu.edu. If you are unable to locate the email, SDS can resend you another copy.
- The LOA will contain the accommodations that need to be provided for the student in the classroom.
- The email will contain the student's name, the course number, and the section number.
LOAs are typically sent within the first week of class to the Instructor of Record for each course in which the student will need accommodations. The LOA is NOT retroactive and only becomes effective once the student and instructor discuss the accommodations.
Review the LOA carefully and contact the Student Disability Services office should you have any questions about how an accommodation should/may be provided.
