The backslash key is located near the "Enter" or "Return" key on most keyboards. It is most often found directly to the left of the Enter key, but can also be placed below or above the enter key. The backslash key is located directly above the the Return key on Apple keyboards.

It is important to differentiate between the backslash and the forward slash keys:
• The backslash key has a "pipe" character above it, which is a straight vertical line. Backslashes are used do designate Windows directories, like you may see in Windows Explorer, i.e. C:\Program Files\.
• The forward slash key has a question mark above it. Forward slashes are used to designate directories in URLs, i.e. http://www.sharpened.net/helpcenter/
