Campus Access & Engagement

Campus Access and Engagement signifies Texas Tech University's commitment to student success. We serve as a point of connection for students and community members, boosting engagement with academic, social, and professional development opportunities available at Texas Tech. Recognizing the many needs and challenges faced by its student body, Campus Access and Engagement seeks to ensure that every student, regardless of their background or stage in their academic journey, can access the resources and support they need to thrive.

By promoting participation in campus life, including involvement in student organizations, leadership development programs, and community service initiatives, we cultivate a vibrant community that enriches the student experience. This approach not only supports academic achievement but also fosters personal growth and a sense of belonging among students.

In addition to serving current students, Campus Access and Engagement also focuses on outreach efforts to prospective students and their families, highlighting the opportunities available at Texas Tech. Through these efforts, the office aims to attract a talented pool of students who are eager to contribute to and benefit from the university's dynamic community.

Units

Community Outreach

Works to develop partnerships with Lubbock area businesses, school districts, faith-based organizations, nonprofit organizations, alumni groups, and others in support of the strategic priorities of the university and advancement of the academic experience.

University Interscholastic League (UIL)

Provides high school students with unbiased competitions in academic, athletic and theater events, provides quality venues, and promotes partnerships and collaborations with local and regional educators and business establishments.

Hispanic Serving Institution

Amplifies the University's HSI status by providing programs, activities, and professional development opportunities to foster a sense of belonging for all students, while supporting student enrollment, retention, and graduation rates especially among underrepresented, first-generation, low-income, rural students.

Federal TRIO Programs

Academic, and college preparatory programs federally funded by the U.S. Department of Education that promote academic skills and motivation necessary for students to graduate high school and enter post-secondary education. Includes Upward Bound, Upward Bound Math & Science and McNair Scholars.

Intercultural Education & Engagement

Focuses on a student-centered approach to explore and affirm shared humanity through intentional coalition building, holistic resources, scholarly activities, and consistent community outreach to educate our student body, faculty, and staff.

Student Enrichment Center

Serves as a hub for workshops and other special events designed to empower and educate participants to use their lived experiences to serve as change makers in the TTU community and beyond. Programs through Intercultural Education and Engagement (IEE) are also housed here.
