David Driskill is the Director of the College of Architecture's downtown studio, Urban Tech—an extension of the CoA devoted to community engagement, urban research, and education. Prior to joining the CoA Faculty in 1987, David practiced architecture and urban design in Washington, D.C and Houston, TX.
A long-time advocate for sustainability and urban development, his research explores how the design of cities affects carbon dioxide immobilization and emissions, thermal comfort, and livability.
He is a licensed architect in the state of Texas and a member of the American Institute of Architects. He serves as a member of the City of Lubbock Urban Design and Historic Preservation Commission and is a board member of the Lubbock Heritage Society.
