Market Analyst at Plains All American Pipeline

I applied for and accepted the position because it complemented my skills and future goals perfectly. This job allows me to help solve complex problems and provide innovative solutions to a great company; and those are things that I value. The most exciting part of the work that I will be doing is solving complex data-driven problems every day and presenting my findings to decision makers within the company.

I have utilized the career center services throughout both my undergraduate and graduate studies at Texas Tech. The counselors there helped me narrow down the type of career I wanted, to get an internship with a great company, to re-evaluate my career goals afterwards, and finally to land my first job. Throughout my many visits to the Career Center I refined my resume, improved my interview techniques, and discovered things about myself that have made me a stronger person and a better candidate. During my visits to the Career Center, my perspective changed from "How do I get a job?" to "What do I need to improve and highlight about myself to get in position to be a hire-able candidate?" That transition was essential for my formation and I believe is in large part the reason that I received the job offer that I did. One tip that I learned from my visits to the Career Center was that even experiences that we may think did nothing for us, shape us and make us into the people that we are. For that reason, no experience is bad experience if we learn, grow, and become better because of it.
