Charles Long is the Associate Managing Director of the Free Market Institute and an Instructor of Applied Business Economics in the Area of Energy Commerce & Business Economics of the Rawls College of Business. He earned his B.B.A. Economics from Loyola University New Orleans and his M.S. in Economic Policy from Suffolk University prior to joining Texas Tech.

In addition to his obligations with the Institute, Chuck has supported the administrative operations of several external organizations including as Assistant Secretary-Treasurer of Southern Economic Association (2017-2022), Assistant Secretary-Treasurer of The Association of Private Enterprise Education (2019-), and Assistant to the Treasurer of The Mont Pelerin Society (2019-).

Chuck has participated in the President's Leadership Institute (2016-2017) at Texas Tech. In 2019, Texas Tech recognized Chuck with a Masked Rider Distinguished Staff Award.
