Students majoring in Exercise & Sport Science pursue teacher certification through the Physical Education Teacher Education (PETE) track. Ther certification program prepares students to teach in the EC-12 grade levels. Students interested in sport coaching in junior and senior high schools should complete the requirements in this track. In addition to the required courses in the PETE track, students must complete a minor in education. A 2.5 GPA is required to enroll in teacher certification courses. Also, students must meet other requirements outlined by the College of Education.
