Early Head Start

Texas Tech Early Head Start is under the auspices of the department of Human Development and Family Studies (HDFS) of the College of Human Sciences.

TTU Early Head Start has an Executive Director who is a faculty member in HDFS, a Center Director and Educational Specialist with advanced degrees, and a Family Support Specialist and Health Specialist. The Director teaches laboratory seminars, coordinates the lab experiences for college students, and oversees the Center-Based and Home-Based programs.

All classrooms contain eight children and are staffed by 2 full-time teachers who nurture children's cognitive, social, emotional, and language development using the High Scope curriculum while demonstrating developmentally appropriate practice to the University students.
