Financial Planning Academy

Financial Planning Academy

Spend a fun-filled week in person participating in events designed to help high school students deepen their understanding of personal finance and the profession of financial planning. Interact with financial experts from across the country and further develop skills in leadership, communication, team building, entrepreneurship, marketing, and more!

Financial Planning Academy, developed by Texas Tech University and funded by Charles Schwab Foundation, is a summer program that offers rising high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors education, and training in the core areas of personal financial management. The week will include working in small teams on a financial planning case study, developing a financial plan, and participating in other competitions for scholarships and prizes. In addition to promoting financial literacy among America's youth, the camp will provide insight into the Registered Investment Advisory (RIA) industry and show students the value of financial planning as a profession.

This multi-university program will be hosted at the following universities this summer: Texas Tech University, Prairie View A&M, University of Georgia, University of Missouri, Kansas State University, and William Paterson University. The combination of these seven institutions provides remarkable opportunities to connect with college students, faculty, and career professionals.
