Title One School Field Trip Funding

The Museum of Texas Tech University Association has received a grant from the E.A. Franklin Charitable Trust to help rural and economically underserved schools on the South Plains take field trips to the Museum and the National Ranching Heritage Center.

The $25,000 grant will be used to assist school districts designated as Title One schools. Title One is the state of Texas designation for low-income schools, and it is based on the percentage of students who receive free or reduced-price lunch.

Important information:

  • The grant can only be used to pay for fuel and bus rental for field trips to the Museum.
  • The transportation costs will be reimbursed to you. Please have a written statement of costs when you arrive at the museum.
  • The field trip grants will be awarded on a first come, first served basis.

Schools using this fund for transportation to the Museum will be encouraged to extend their field trip to include the National Ranching Heritage Center, located next door to the Museum.

For more information or to arrange a fieldtrip, contact the Museum Education Department at (806) 742-2432 or museum.education@ttu.edu.
