1 The online MSW is pending approval be the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and the Council on Social Work Education.

2 Social work licensure and social work position(s) with adequate social work supervision are examples of factors that might allow the five year limit (since receipt of a BSW) to be extended up to ten years. BSW graduates entering an MSW program are not to repeat what has been mastered in their BSW program. Successful completion (at the level of an A or B) of coursework that is equivalent to coursework in the BSW program at Texas Tech University will not be repeated. Documentation, possibly including a syllabus, of the previous coursework may be required.

3 The human biology prerequisite may also be fulfilled by completing an online correspondence course entitled, "Human Biology for Social Workers" through Texas State University.  Select the "Standard Completion Certificate" option for the course.

4 The statistics prerequisite may also be fulfilled by completing an online correspondence course entitled, "Principles of Statistics" through Brigham Young University.
