Poster Abstract Submission

Thank you for submitting your work to the 2024 Texas Tech University Undergraduate Research Conference! We have an updated abstract submission and review process for 2024, so please carefully review all of the information below before beginning your submission form. If you have any questions reach out to us at true@ttu.edu!

Reminder: Abstracts must be submitted and approved before 5:00 PM (Central) on Thursday, February 15, 2024! We recommend students submit their abstracts by February 7, to give their mentors sufficient time to review and approve their submission.

Before You Submit

  • Only one presenter will be allowed per abstract; we will no longer approve co-presenters. Multiple presenters from the same project are allowed (actually encouraged!), but each presenter must submit a separate abstract.
  • Please note this is a timed application. We strongly encourage applicants to compose their abstracts beforehand to ensure they have ample time to complete and review them before submitting.
  • Double check spelling and capitalization. Submitted data will be used to create name tags and shared on the TTU URC website. Abstract forms where issues are identified during the review process will be rejected, but students are welcome to resubmit after confirming edits with the supervising faculty mentor.
  • Be sure to review our Presenter Information page for abstract preparation guidelines, the TTU URC Impact Areas, and Outstanding Commercialization Awards prior to submitting. Each abstract must fall into one of the listed impact areas and indicate if the student would like to participate in the additional Commercialization Award judging.
  • Students working on multiple projects are welcome to submit up to 2 unique abstracts.
  • Faculty mentors, please watch for emails from the abstract review system after your student submits. Please see more detailed instructions below!

Internal Abstract Submission Instructions

These instructions are for projects where both the student presenter and the supervising faculty mentor are affiliated with Texas Tech University or Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. You both must have an eRaider account to be able to access the form.

  1. The undergraduate student should use the Internal Abstract Submission button below to access the abstract submission platform using your eRaider username and password. Applicants should not need to create a separate account.
  2. The applicant should follow on-screen instructions to complete the Abstract Submission Form.
  3. Upon successful submission, the supervising faculty mentor identified on the form will receive an email with a link to the student's application. Mentors must review the submitted abstracts and either accept or reject the proposal. No abstract will be accepted to the Conference without faculty mentor approval.
  4. Students will receive an email informing them of their mentor's decision. If the abstract was accepted, no further action is required. If the abstract was rejected, the student will need to complete a new application if they wish to resubmit.
  5. Once the abstract has been approved by the mentor, the TrUE team will conduct a final review. Students and mentors will receive an email informing them if the applicant has been accepted to present in the Conference.

External Abstract Submission Instructions

These instructions are for projects where either the student presenter or the supervising faculty mentor are not affiliated with Texas Tech University or Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center with eRaider credentials.

  1. The undergraduate student should use the External Abstract Submission button below to access the abstract submission platform.
  2. The student will first need to click on the Create New Account link to set up credentials for managing their submission.
  3. The student will then be prompted to confirm their email address.
  4. After the student clicks the confirmation link from their email, they will be redirected to the abstract submission platform and asked to sign in with their newly established credentials.
  5. After signing in, the student should be directed to the URC External Abstract Submission Form.
  6. Upon successful submission, the supervising faculty mentor identified on the form should receive an email with a copy of the abstract submission data. Mentors must accept or reject each abstract proposal.
  7. Mentor decisions should be submitted via email following the supplied instructions referencing the unique id number for each proposal. Mentors should contact us at true@ttu.edu if they have any issues with the review and approval process!
  8. Once the abstract has been approved by the mentor, the TrUE team will conduct a final review. Students and mentors will receive an email informing them if the applicant has been accepted to present in the Conference.
