Congressional Visits Day

Congressional Visits Day is a two-day annual event that brings scientists, engineers, researchers, educators, and technology executives to Washington to raise visibility and support for science, engineering, and technology. Dates for the 2015 Congressional Visits Day are Tuesday, March 17, and Wednesday, March 18.

The OR&I will issue $500 travel stipends to the top 5 applicants for the new congressional travel competition. Awardees will be required to work with the senior director of research and academic communication to develop the appropriate materials communicating their research. Prior to their travel, they will also commit to a 1 ½ hour workshop with the directors of research development and federal relations to discuss effective communication with congressional members and staffers, as well as successfully representing Texas Tech.
