TEXAS TECH UNIVERSITY 

Texas Tech University is a public institution that was founded in 1923. It has a overall enrollment of 40,944 (fall 2023), and the campus  size is 1,839 acres. It utilizes a semester-based academic calendar. The Wall Street Journal 2024 Best Colleges in the U.S. rankings, which rated colleges and universities in several areas, including student outcomes and learning environment. Of 400 schools listed in the rankings, Texas Tech ranked No. 64 in the nation in the category of student experience.

Texas Tech University is a large research institution in the college town of Lubbock. Students are required to live on campus until they have completed 30 hours of course work. The Texas Tech Red Raiders sports teams compete in the NCAA Big 12 Conference and are particularly competitive in football and basketball. Students can join more than 450 student organizations. The university also runs research centers and institutes, including the National Wind Institute.

How can I attend Church Services?

There are many churches close to Texas Tech. We are happy to help you arrange attendance to services.  

Here is a short list of just some of the churches nearby.

Can I rent a bike or Scooter?

Texas Tech itself does not offer a rental program, however the city of Lubbock offers "Lime Scooters and Lime Bikes" across the city to rent. 

You will often see the green and white scooters across campus. They are available to rent for a fee based on how long you use them for. You can download the app for access to scooters and bikes. The app will also help you locate scooters close to you, so you do not need to go out searching for one. 

Where can I buy groceries?

Walmart: (Walmart sells about everything you could need in one store, so it is very convenient and affordable.)

I would like to do some shopping, where do you recommend?

Lubbock has a plethora of places to shop and eat. Many stores are in large shopping centers, which make it east to spend a lot of time in one location. The following are shopping centers with many options. Please keep in mind however, that you will need to take a bus or Uber to get to these locations.
