Short Courses
Fundamentals of HRO and Operational Reliability
Date: February 7, 2020
Location: Texas Tech University (TTU), Lubbock, TX, USA. The short course will be held on campus in the Industrial, Manufacturing, and Systems Engineering (IMSE) building in room 235. A box lunch and light breakfast will be provided.
CEUs: Participants will receive 1.0 continuing education credits (CEUs) from Texas Tech University upon course completion, which will be recognized by a physical certificate and recorded electronically by the registrar at Texas Tech University.
Description: This course is being offered through the Center of Excellence in High Reliability Organizations and Processes (CEHROP), and includes 10.5 hours of classroom instruction, with 10 hours of contact and 30 min of breaks. Expected learning outcomes include an understanding of organizational reliability theories and how they can be applied to improve an organization. There will be several active learning exercises that reinforce concepts embedded within the curriculum.
Cost: $495
Travel: Participants are responsible for their own travel and lodging arrangements. Airlines servicing Lubbock include Southwest, American, and United. There are numerous hotel options in Lubbock, most within a relatively short radius of campus, yet the Overton (free airport shuttle) and Hyatt Place hotels are both within a 10-15 minute walking distance of the IMSE building.
