Biography

I was born and raised in Karaj, Iran. With a deep passion for both the Earth and engineering, I chose to pursue a degree in mining engineering during my undergraduate studies. My focus was on quarry mines for my bachelor's research. Through visits to mineral processing plants, my interest shifted towards mineral processing engineering and pursued a master's degree in this field. During my master's research, I worked on coal desulfurization utilizing the flotation method, alongside process optimization through the application of bacterial modifiers.

Following a few years of industry experience, I determined that my path lay in further academic exploration and started my PhD journey in fall 2019. I worked on the synthesis and characterization of novel polymeric materials for separation purposes. I examined these polymers' performance in the removal of hazardous chemicals such as chlorinated solvents, 1,4-dioxane, and PFAS at environmentally relevant conditions. At present, my focus revolves around investigating the kinetics and isotherm behavior of these adsorbents to enhance their overall performance.
