About Critical Infrastructure Security Institute (CISI) 

The world is filled with many threats that have only intensified in recent years, and our nation's critical infrastructure sectors remain vulnerable. Texas Tech University launched the Critical Infrastructure Security Institute (CISI) to solve the continuous problem of cyber physical security threat analysis and interruption response in critical infrastructure systems. 

CISI brings together programs from across the Texas Tech University campus, including the Center for Pulsed Power & Power Electronics, the Global Laboratory for Energy Asset Management & Manufacturing (GLEAMM), the High Performance Computing Center, the Combustion Lab, and cross-department centers such as the Oil Field Technology Center (OTC), initiatives in water and wastewater systems, and food production.

CISI is establishing a national academic/industry/government consortium that will apply real infrastructure design, threat intelligence, cyber analytics, and research capacity to the elucidation and remediation of critical infrastructure vulnerability. CISI is studying strategies to protect critical infrastructure among DHS CISA’s 16 critical sectors from both domestic and nation-state threats, resulting in policy analysis and formulation and a stronger, more resilient national infrastructure.
