Discoveries to Impact Month's Research Week showcases undergraduate researchers' impact. The events highlighted below are sponsored by the Texas Tech Center for Transformative Undergraduate Experiences (TrUE) that works to ensure each undergraduate student has the opportunity to engage in high-impact educational practices while in Raiderland.

The star of the show this week is the Undergraduate Research Conference (URC)! Started in 2009, URC is one of the nation's largest interdisciplinary undergraduate research conferences. URC is a celebration of the rich undergraduate research and creative activities landscape at the university.

Discoveries to Impact Month is all about building connections, and mentoring undergraduates, is one of the most rewarding ways to do exactly that. Join us for light refreshments and an engaging panel moderated by STEM CORE Senior Director Dr. Jessica Spott. Graduate students will share their real-world experiences and advice on guiding undergrads through research. Whether you are in a STEM field, the arts, or the humanities, you will leave with actionable strategies to improve your mentoring skills. While you are there, connect with the TrUE team to learn how reviewing for the Texas Tech Undergraduate Research Conference can be a great, low-stress addition to your professional development.

TTUHSC Student Research Week Awardee Session

Award-winning student researchers from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center will present their work, showcasing innovative discoveries with the potential to shape the future of health and science. Selected from TTUHSC’s annual Student Research Week, these presenters represent outstanding achievement in student-led research. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with emerging scholars and explore research at the forefront of biomedical innovation.

Commercialization Poster Competition Session

TTU Museum

The Commercialization Poster Competition highlights undergraduate students whose research or startup ideas demonstrate strong potential for real-world impact. Finalists present their work during the Undergraduate Research Conference, with five winners receiving a $1,000 cash award and access to Innovation Hub resources. This competition helps students take their ideas beyond discovery and toward commercialization.

Thanks to the generous support of its partners and alumni, CISER continues to celebrate the Undergraduate Research Scholars making waves in STEM at their annual banquet. The evening features a program that recognizes alumni and partners, awards scholarships to participating students, and highlighting the importance of Undergraduate Research Scholarship at Texas Tech University.
