Parents' Corner: Online Predators
As children continue to increase the amount of time spent on the internet, they also increase their chances of encountering online predators. Hiding behind the anonymity of the computer screen allows these predators to gain your child’s trust more easily, and in turn, leaves your child vulnerable to exploitation.
Message from the CIO
This year, the TTU Office of the CIO has designated the month of May as "IT Spring Cleaning" month. We suggest you set aside time to reduce digital clutter and safely dispose of paper records containing confidential or sensitive institutional information that are no longer needed (OP 10.10: Records Retention). Managing the electronic and physical data responsibly is critical to the protection of institutional information resources. We encourage the TTU community to reduce unnecessary electronic files, social media pictures, and personal information, eliminate unneeded paper documents, and sanitize devices. We are all responsible for the privacy and security of personal and institutional data, and we encourage you to proactively monitor and maintain your devices. To extend the economic life of University equipment, we provide information on Raider PC Mart, which allows departments to exchange computing equipment while adhering to Property Inventory rules.
