In 2011, 2014, 2016, and again in 2020, we created a bulletin dedicated to email based on questions and feedback from the TTU community. We have updated the information and added new topics based on your input and our changes in solutions and infrastructure. We encourage you to keep this edition as a quick reference guide, as many within the campus community indicated that the information has been useful. Phishing email continues to be a threat in our technology environment, and we need your partnership in recognizing, reporting, and deleting these email attempts to steal your and institutional data. Fostering a culture of vigilance is key to providing a secure and robust information resource in support of institutional strategic priorities. Remember . . . Recommended Email Clients
TechMail, powered by Microsoft Office 365, is your official institutional email service – the required platform for TTU business, education, and research communications. While TechMail can be accessed using Microsoft Outlook and most basic email clients, many of these clients were not designed to be used in the Office 365 environment at Texas Tech, and as a result, you may not be able to utilize all of the features that TechMail has to offer.
What Happened? Why You Did Not Receive an Email
Office 365 servers process a large volume of email every day. Occasionally, you may not receive an email in your inbox that you were expecting or that someone indicated they sent to you.
