IT Division COVID-19 Support Highlights

Through collaboration and coordination with our TTU and strategic vendor partners, the IT Division provided campus-wide support that enabled innovative solutions to be deployed by TTU departments for ongoing University operations during the COVID-19 pandemic. Below is a sampling of support and services provided to the Texas Tech community by the IT Division:

    • After conducting market research for solutions, created customized set of applications for TTU: COVID-19 Screening - Building Access Application (VPR/Ops), Quick Self-Assessment, Full Self-Screening, Report Positive Result, Contact Tracing, Interface with City (EM), and VPA Pre-performance testing
    • Deployed HIPAA Enclave for secure storage of PHI/HIPAA data
    • Established Citrix Connections for secure access to COVID-19 Management System for contact tracers

  • Support For Faculty/Classroom Technology
    • Collaborated with Office of the Provost, Registrar, Operations, and eLearning to purchase 10 mobile carts for socially-distanced classroom instruction
    • Installed cameras (50+) in classrooms for instruction (65 Raider Rooms available for online instructions)
  • Assistance To Other Departments To Deliver Their Services
    • Assisted TIEHH with COVID Test Processing and Securely Transmitting Results to The State
    • Utilized IT Division's 3D printers for printing of PPE (>3,000) for Honors College project to assist healthcare workers
    • Provided support for town halls and other Zoom meetings
    • Assisted Emergency Management to make outbound calls for contact tracing
