Professor Ekwaro-Osire was elected as elected a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) in July 2018. The citation appearing during his election was "For his contributions to the application of probabilistic analysis in both, energy systems and healthcare, and he has established effective international graduate programs, specifically in Africa."
