Biography
Smriti Shringi is an Assistant Professor of Microbiology. She grew up in a family of educators in north-western state of India. She earned professional degree in Veterinary Medicine and Master's in Veterinary Microbiology from Rajasthan Agricultural University, India. She worked as Graduate Research Assistant in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Chonbuk National University, South Korea. She earned PhD in Veterinary Science at Washington State University. During her tenure as a post-doctoral researcher and Assistant Research Professor at WSU, her research focused on molecular detection, surveillance, and viral-vectored vaccine design of bacterial and viral infectious agents that impact animal and public health. In 2019, she moved to animal health industry and worked as a R&D Scientist in veterinary diagnostics at VMRD Inc in Pullman, Washington. In July 2022, she took a leap from animal health industry to academia to join School of Veterinary Medicine at Texas Tech University.See full biography.
