Foliage: deciduous, alternate, ovate, with entire margins

leaves may be clustered on spurs
Flower: dioecious
Fruit: large, 4 - 6 inch wide syncarp of drupes covered in a yellow-green rind
Bark: develops dark orange-brown color on older trees
   
Environment  
   
Water: drought- and flood-tolerant
Soil: tolerates poor soil conditions

USDA Zone: zones 4 - 9
   
Care  
   
Maintenance: may get thorns on young wood

thorn-less, male cultivar would have very good potential as an urban tree
