coarsely toothed with 8 to 13 pairs teeth

whitish pubescence below

may have yellow, orange, or red Fall color
Fruit: subsessile acorn that encloses about one-half the nut
Bark: ash-gray and flaky

Water: somewhat drought-tolerant
Soil: tolerant of acidic, alkaline soils, or wet soils
USDA Zone: zones 4 - 7
   
Additional Notes: could be used as a street tree

not very common in the industry, but has great potential

in the white oak group
