Exam/CNA Information

TEAS: Effective for the Summer 2020 application cycle and beyond, the TTUHSC School of Nursing Traditional BSN program no longer requires completion of the TEAS. If another school of nursing you are interested in requires the TEAS, featured products and preparation guides can be found at the Assessment Technology Institute (ATI) web store.

HESI: Some schools of nursing require/accept the HESI. More information can be found here.

 

Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA): Effective Spring 2025, the TTUHSC School of Nursing's Traditional BSN program requires accepted students must submit documentation of completion of a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) or Patient Care Technician (PCT) course, other healthcare certification or relevant healthcare work experience (such as Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Paramedic, Certified Medication Aide, Operating Room Technician, Emergency Department Technician, etc.) prior to the first day of class. Admission preference may be given to applicants with prior CNA or PCT work experience at the time of application.
