Peer Tutor Job Description
A Peer Tutor serves as the encouraging figure a student needs to recognize their potential in achieving academic success. A Peer Tutor provides encouragement, support, and guidance for any individual that visits the Learning Center seeking academic support. Through positive interaction and effective communication, a Peer Tutor creates an educational environment that inspires a student to develop autonomous learning strategies.
Peer Tutor Job Requirements
- Must have completed at least two semesters as a TTU student
- Must have an overall TTU GPA of at least 3.5
- Must have received an "A" in any course interested in tutoring (at TTU)
- Must be able to tutor in at least 4 courses (in any semester you are hired)
- Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively
- Must be an Undergraduate student
- Must be able to participate in required training and professional development sessions
- Must be able to work at the main TTU campus in Lubbock during the duration of their employment with the Learning Center.
Front Desk SA Job Description
The Front Desk SA position for the Learning Center is responsible for greeting guests, answering calls, and ensuring that all users are placed with a Peer Tutor. Front Desk SAs will track usage (using Raider Success Hub) and ensure an overall positive experience for all visitors. This position is a great way to improve customer service skills!
Front Desk SA Job Requirements
- Must be available for in-person shifts (no virtual/online)
- Must have previous Customer Service experience
- Must be positive and friendly
- Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced setting while multi-tasking
- Must be available for full semester (Fall, Spring, Summer I, Summer II) in which you wish to work
- Must be available to work shifts in both main location (Drane Hall), as well as out sites (Library, Residence Halls)
Graduate Assistant Job Description
The Graduate Assistant support the daily operations of the Learning Center while developing valuable professional and leadership experience. Graduate Assistants work closely with staff, student employees, and campus partners and contribute to the success of Learning Center programs and services.

- Must be able to work at the main TTU campus in Lubbock during the duration of their employment with the Learning Center.
