Mark Murdock is a Technology Lawyer with over 35 years of experience, including over 30 years at IBM specializing in technology and product development, manufacturing and licensing, then over 5 years at Thompson & Knight, L.L.P. working closely with early stage tech, clean energy and life sciences companies in Austin. Mark is an Entrepreneur in Residence at the UT- Austin Cockrell School of Engineering and was a member of both the Central Texas and the Gulf Coast RCIC in connection with the Texas Emerging Growth Fund. Mark has judged numerous Idea 2 Product, MOOT CORP and TexasVentureLabs business plan competitions at UT-Austin, similar competitions at St. Edward's University in Austin, Baylor University in Waco and at Rice University in Houston.

Mark has also mentored and coached early stage companies in Austin in connection with Longhorn Startups, SXSW-ECO, CleanTechOpen, the Baylor New Venture Competition, the Rice Business Plan Competition and the St.Edward's University Business Plan Competition. Mark is a member of the TOBI Board of Directors (bank holding company), is a member of the Advisory Boards of the Bill Munday School of Management and Business at St. Edward's University in Austin, and of Texchange Austin, a non-profit organization devoted to the education and mentoring of the founders and leaders of early stage technology and life sciences companies in Austin. He was a former member of the Advisory Board of the National Association of Corporate Directors-Austin. Mark lives in Austin. He holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from Texas Tech University and a Law Degree from the University of Texas at Austin.
