Texas Tech University is creating a major center for innovation and entrepreneurialism with the opening of the first building Texas Tech University Innovation Hub at Research Park (the "Hub") late fall of 2015. The Hub supports economic growth of the state and region fostering public-private partnership and providing a place for the entrepreneur community to learn and launch a start-up.

The Hub and its leaders accomplish the mission collaboratively working with all System stakeholders, the business community, federal and state leaders. A multi-disciplinary approach to academics, co-curricular programs, research projects and a world class LEED facility is the foundation to build a knowledge based economy.

The 40,000 square foot facility is designed to be a resource for the faculty and students of TTU System and entrepreneurs in the community to launch successful new ventures. The facility offers contemporary conference rooms and the highest-quality shared lab facilities and equipment. The atrium provides flex meeting space with technology support to foster high levels of interaction among students, faculty, entrepreneurs, mentors and investors. Our state of the art flexible office space and wet-dry labs are customizable and securable.

The programs currently hosted at the Hub to support entrepreneurs include: Texas Tech Innovation Mentorship and Entrepreneurialism (TTIME), TechCEO, Texas Tech Accelerator, Lubbock Angel Network, and Small Business Development Center (satellite office), One Million Cups, and more to come.

Most of the nation's best research and development is now taking place at universities. Innovation Districts are where academic institutions, government entities, private organizations and entrepreneurs co-locate to create a cluster of innovation and entrepreneurial activity.
