The Innovation Hub is empowering technology ventures by launching the Industry Advancement Technology (iAT) Accelerator. This program is designed to help faculty, students, and community entrepreneurs in the West Texas region launch startup companies or discover licensing opportunities based on their artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, or advanced manufacturing technology.
The iAT Accelerator will select four ventures based on their artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, or advanced manufacturing technology. The selected ventures will be a part of the TTU Accelerator Program and receive up to $65K, mentorship, and access to co-working space to help them develop into lasting, successful ventures solving today's complex social challenges!
What is the iAT Accelerator?
The 12-month program is designed to empower early-stage startups by providing access to:
- Expert Mentorship: Learn from industry leaders, successful entrepreneurs, and investors.
- Comprehensive Resources: Receive funding, workspace, and tools to accelerate your growth.
- Tailored Training: Master business fundamentals like go-to-market strategy, fundraising, and scaling operations.
- Network Expansion: Connect with an exclusive community of peers, partners, and potential customers.
Who should apply?
Were looking for startups that:
- Have a bold vision and innovative solutions that have an AI, Machine Learning, Advanced Manufacturing, and/or Robotics integration.
- Are at the prototype, MVP, or early-revenue stage.
- Are ready to scale their business with expert guidance and a supportive network.
- Have founders 18 years or older.
Not affiliated with Texas Tech University? No worries! Applications are open to the public.
Don't have a formed company? Not a problem! Our program leads you through the process of forming a business entity.

Applying to the competition is a simple, easy three-step process:
STEP ONE
Review the TTU Accelerator Program Guidelines and FAQs that will tell you the rules, eligibility requirements, how the selection process works, and what you need to apply. Required Materials:
- Completed Application Questions in application platform (Accelerator App)
- Presentation Deck
- Resume of primary applicant
- Timeline to Minimal Viable Product
- Demonstration (This can be a video, wireframes, diagram, or storyboard that answers "how will the technology/product/service work?")
Examples of Demos: Devices/Product (physical prototype demonstration), Phone App (wireframe/storyboard), Process/Service (illustration/layout the process)
STEP TWO
When applications open, visit the application portal through the button below. You'll be asked to create a profile, answer application questions, and upload your supporting documents (listed above) to the application.
STEP THREE
Mark your calendars for important dates. A downloadable list of important dates will be available after applications open this fall.

NOW AVAILABLE! Texas Tech Accelerator Digital Certification Badges
The TTU Innovation Hub now offers digital badges for qualifying TTU Accelerator participants – a verifiable, shareable credential that represents skills in startup formation, leadership, project management, business operations, etc.
Badges are issued through the Accredible platform and adhere to the Open Badge Format, and can be displayed on LinkedIn, email signatures, personal websites and online resumes.
Cost: No fee. Venture Creation badges will be provided to TTU Accelerator Program participants who are the majority shareholders of their company, or those who actively contribute to their teams progress through Accelerator Program activities.
