Make an Innovative Impact in National Security!

The Pantex Plant, located in Carson County near Amarillo, Texas, is a critical component of the National Nuclear Security Administration’s (NNSA) Nuclear Security Enterprise. As one of six NNSA production facilities, Pantex plays a central role in ensuring the safety, security, and reliability of the nation’s nuclear deterrent through specialized technical operations and advanced manufacturing capabilities.

Operations at Pantex are managed by PanTeXas Deterrence, LLC (PXD), the management and operating contractor for the site. PXD is a joint venture led by a subsidiary of BWX Technologies, Inc. (BWXT), in partnership with Fluor; SOC, A Day & Zimmermann Company; and The Texas A&M University System. Together, these organizations support the plant’s mission through expertise in engineering, manufacturing, security, and research collaboration.

Through its partnership with the Texas Tech Innovation Hub, Pantex engages with faculty, students, and entrepreneurs to advance innovation, workforce development, and technology-driven solutions that support national priorities and regional economic growth.
