Expected Outcomes from Grant Project

Short-term (1-2 years)

  • Increased knowledge of grant writing resources;
  • Increase in the submission of federal and commodity proposals on food safety topics;
  • Easy access to grant writing guidance and resources for food safety professionals;
  • Enhanced relations between the CEA industry, academia, and government.

Long-term (not measured in grant)

  • Improved submission of federal grants by MSIs and new researcher and extension/outreach persons 
  • Reduced risk of foodborne illness and improved public health
  • Improved access to grant writing resources to apply for other federal grant opportunities
  • Increased awareness and use of resources available on National Clearinghouse for food safety professionals
