Short-term (1-2 years)

- Increase in the submission of federal and commodity proposals on food safety topics;

- Enhanced relations between the CEA industry, academia, and government.
Long-term (not measured in grant)
- Improved submission of federal grants by MSIs and new researcher and extension/outreach persons
- Reduced risk of foodborne illness and improved public health
- Improved access to grant writing resources to apply for other federal grant opportunities
- Increased awareness and use of resources available on National Clearinghouse for food safety professionals
