Join us for a weeklong celebration honoring the resilience, determination, and achievements of first-generation college students at Texas Tech and across the nation! In recognition of the National First-Generation College Celebration, we’re proud to highlight and promote a variety of events happening across campus that recognize first-gen experiences and build community.

Whether you’re the first in your family to attend college, a faculty or staff member, or simply want to celebrate the strength of these Red Raiders, First-Gen Week is for you!

Every year, Texas Tech joins colleges and universities across the nation for the National First-Generation College Celebration on November 8. Here, we go beyond just one day—we dedicate an entire week to honor the dedication, resilience, and accomplishments of our First-Gen Red Raiders.

🤝 Campus Partners: Get Involved!

We invite campus departments, student organizations, and colleges to host their own events in celebration of First-Gen Week. If you're planning a program, workshop, or activity that supports or celebrates first-generation students, we’d love to include it on the official First-Gen Week calendar.
