Meet Mariah

Hello! I'm Mariah Deleon, and I am a first-year student at Texas Tech. You can find me always listening to music, and sometimes terribly singing along. I love all the opportunities that life can throw at me, sometimes they hit a little too hard, but they're there for a reason!

Activities I am involved in on-campus are Pickle Ball Club and Delta Gamma. Pickle Ball Club allows us to practice to better our skills. Delta Gamma offers the opportunities of sisterhood and philanthropy. Off-campus, I am involved in The Volunteer Center of Lubbock. I can sign up to volunteer at various functions or events that take place all over Lubbock.

If I could go back in time to give myself advice on my first day at Texas Tech, I would begin by saying "be confident." I was very timid at first. I was walking to my classes all alone, which was new for me. I would also tell myself to be patient because I would eventually find a group of friends that would leave a positive impact on my life.
